In-Person Visits!

Hello and thank you for your interest in Carleton!

We are incredibly excited to welcome visitors back to campus. We're offering in-person campus visits on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from June 21 - September 3. Register using the calendar below

No surprise: Our in-person visits are going to look a little different. But, you'll get to confirm Minnesota is not always snow-covered, toss a Frisbee, smell our cereal-sweet air, explore Northfield, and meet us and other prospective students and families in-person! These will be fun, informative, and as safe as possible.

We've done our best to give you as much access as possible while maintaining a safe campus for staff and students. Our ask of you: all visitors must review and abide by the below visit expectations. (Read more about the guidance for summer on campus here.)

Expectations for all summer visitors to Carleton's campus:
    • Tour capacity: 30 guests. All must be registered in advance
    • No drop-in visitors are permitted at this time
    • Duration: ~90 minutes: 30-minute seated information session followed by a 60-75-minute walking tour
    • Building access: We'll have five open buildings. While you're welcome to explore the rest of campus by foot (we'll provide a helpful map!), guests are not permitted in any other buildings
    • Masks: No masks required outdoors, but all staff, students, and visitors must wear masks indoors (and outdoors if a 6-foot distance can't be maintained), regardless of vaccination status or negative COVID-19 test
    • Vaccination: While we encourage anyone who can to get vaccinated, we are not requiring proof of vaccination status. Note: All of our staff, faculty, and students will be required to be vaccinated (you can read more here)
      • If a visitor or their family member is feeling ill on the morning of their visit, they should not proceed with an in-person visit on that day. Please contact the Admissions Office (admissions@carleton.edu or 507-222-4190) and we will work with you to reschedule.
    • Distancing: Please maintain at least a 6-foot distance from anyone not in your family or pod at all times
    • Restrooms are available in open buildings only
    Recommendations:
    • We'll cover some ground—wear comfy shoes!
    • Bring a water bottle; we'll have spaces to refill
    • Check the weather. Tours happen rain or shine (or sleet or snow), so bring appropriate weather gear. We'll also provide rain ponchos and umbrellas if needed.
    • Sign up asap! We expect our in-person campus visits to fill up quickly.
Accessibility: Accessible parking, entrances, and restrooms will be available. All open buildings also offer places to sit.
    Schedule your campus visit!

Offered at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays throughout the summer. Note: we are closed July 5th for the Independence Day holiday.

Each session is limited to 30 visitors. You will be asked for details about the total number in your party when you register. We encourage you to limit your group size so that we can welcome as many prospective students and families to campus as possible this summer.

Virtual student-led tours will continue at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
    Taste of Carleton

Taste of Carleton (TOC) is an all-expenses-paid fly-in program for high school seniors. It’s held every fall for students who apply and are invited to attend. We are still finalizing dates and logistics for the fall of 2021, so check back for more details.

The 2021 TOC Application is open!
Your question wasn't answered? Tell us how we can help

You are welcome to go on our virtual self-guided virtual tour at any time. And, we welcome you to connect with some current students by requesting a virtual student host and reading through our student blogs, too.
